happy birthday to me!

it’s my blog birthday!  I can’t believe whattaylormade has been going for a whole year!  It is a bit strange just writing posts and putting them out there in the world wide web, not really knowing what might happen or if anyone is actually interested in what you’re rambling on about.  But the feedback from you guys has been A-MA-ZING!!  So thank you very much!!

I’ve had a few issues of late with an over enthusiastic odd job man who managed to cut through the phone cable to my flat, not particularly convenient, but all sorted now!

All that time, with no access meant a serious dent in my blog reading time, but did mean I actually made some stuff, rather than just looking at pictures of the stuff everybody else was making.  And here it is!

my new phone cover!

iphone cover 2I’m so pleased with it.  It is loosely based on a phone cover from this book, with a few little twists.

iphone cover 3I didn’t really follow a pattern for the stitches, just sort of went with what I felt like.

iphone cover 4It’s quite a snug fit so I also added a little pompom phone puller-outer thing, that’s the technical terminology, so the phone just pops out!  Quite clever, if I do say so myself!!

I used this clever little thing to make the pompom…

pompomGone are the days of cutting circles out of cereal boxes!

pompomjust wrap it round…

Then just cut and tie..

pompomand a little pompom pops out!

I’ve also been spending a bit of time tidying up my stash, all those little ends that are left over that just lie around all over the place, well, in my house they do.  I’ve seen idea in a few places and just love it!

yarn pegsI don’t actually want to use up all the bits because they look so cute on the pegs, it makes quite a nice garland do you think?

yarn pegsI used Anchor tapestry wool for the phone cover in 8118, 8922, 8824, 9786 and 8440

Day 24: cover it up

I am pretty clumsy, it’s embarrassing sometimes.  I’ve got a new work phone and I’m really scared of dropping it and breaking it.  A week after I got it I nearly dropped it down a gutter, thankfully lady luck was shining on my that day, I may not be so lucky next time.

What a really need is an amazing case which makes my phone completely indestructible, but I’ll settle for a pretty crocheted one instead.  Here’s a few pieces of inspiration to get me thinking…

Day 10: manga camera

I’m still stuck I’m a hotel so I’ve been looking for things to keep me occupied, I think I’ve come up trumps! I found the app manga camera!

This app is pretty awesome. Instead of just changing the colours of your photos, like most other apps I have (you may have noticed I’m a bit of an Instagram fan), this app changes your pictures into Japanese style comics! It’s amazing!

Aren’t they amazing! I’ve even done one for my latest knitting project…

I think I’m going to do this to all my photos from now on, I LOVE IT!!!

Early winter warmer

I know what you’re thinking, it’s only been a week since my last post, surely I can’t be writing another one so soon. Well, I’ve been very busy!
I’ve decided to do this whole post on my phone. All the photos were taken with my phone and I’m even writing this on my phone. Mental.

Anyway, down to business….

I’ve had this little project in my head for a little while…

It was a request from my cousin for her little girl. I spend ages trying to find a pattern, but couldn’t get one I liked so I’ve just made it up.

It sort of turned out how I imagined, but after making my last project it was quite nice to not follow a pattern and just go with the flow.

Ta da!!!!

What do you think? My first hat of the wrap up warm season. I just hope it fits!

Corrie’s final thoughts
It’s so much fun posting from my phone! This literally took me 2 mins! You could be hearing a lot more from me….
